By perpetuating these stereotypes, our society at large is being absolved of any responsibility in making our world a more inclusive place. It creates feelings like “wow, my life could be so much worse!” or “Thank god I’m not that person!” – but what if you are that person? Most disabilities are actually acquired later in life.
